Dakota Digital’s RTX Gauges Take Us Back To The Future

For those of you who want new school technology, but don’t want to lose that old school look, Dakota Digital has just the thing for you! Their new Retrotech series is all about keeping things looking factory, while giving the user modern capabilities. Some people are purists and don’t go for the custom interiors that incorporate the look of modern digital gauges, and Dakota Digital gets that.

Check out the, “fauxdometer,” that displays mileage just like your classic rollover style tumbler would.

In order to accommodate their customers with a zeal for the vintage aesthetic, the RTX series focuses on retaining a stock look. If you were to pop the door to take a quick glance at the interior, you’d think it was OEM, but as soon as you turn that key, you’d be pleasantly surprised to find a full featured modern gauge hiding behind a classic design.

Upon entry, users will find a, “faux,” tumbler odometer displayed on the small digital screen at the bottom of the gauge cluster. That digital screen can be programmed to display a myriad of real time information, such as quarter mile time, fuel, water temp, oil pressure, volts, etc. Users can also program it to display common driving information like MPH, gear selection, and mileage.

RTX screen readings can display a whole host of gauge readouts. From water temp to oil pressure and everything in between, the Retrotech series has got you covered!

The gauges retain over 30 colors, and users can choose separate colors for the backlight, needle, and screen, to make hundreds of combinations. The RTX series are also Bluetooth compatible and can be paired with your phone, tablet, or smart device. When paired, users can download the RTX app on iOS and Android.

Tech saavy and into customization, but keen on old school design? Whip out the iPad and make adjustments on the fly with the RTX App.

While you are checking out the app, you can see real-time gauge readouts, which is helpful when you’re working under the hood. You can also customize and adjust your preferences from the app, and that includes the use of the GPS signal to calibrate the speedometer. You can even access system diagnostics without hooking up any wires.

Check out some of the options that Dakota Digital is offering with their first batch of Retrotech instruments.

Dakota Digital starts from scratch with CNC machined housings, and stuffs them with electronics designed and built in-house. The first run of the RTX gauges can be had for tri-five Chevys, ’66-’72 Chevelles, first generation Camaros, and ’55-’87 Chevy trucks. The RTX series offers a timeless look with the features and functionality of today. You can find out more about the Retrotech lineup and other products at dakotadigital.com
