At this year’s SEMA show Auto Meter gauges debuted a new LCD dash that caters to enthusiast, and racers alike. Featuring their patented advanced LCD display technology, the new LCD Sportsman Dash comes equipped with a large 7-inch screen that is user-configurable. “We wanted it to be perfectly plug-and-play and very simple,” explained Joseph Mills of Auto Meter.
There is also a new optional sensor module that allows the use of up to 10 additional discrete sending units. No ECU is necessary and multiple sensor modules can be used to essentially add more parameters. “You can actually stack these models up and we’ve had these data-logging up to 50 channels so far,” added Mills.
Auto Meter’s new LCD Sportsman Dash is touchscreen, unlike the competition dash that they first debuted in 2012. The new dash also employs award-winning Data Pro software. “The platform that it’s built on leverages our professional-grade Data Pro data acquisition software, so it really takes some of the high-end features from our big grand daddy pro system and puts it into the reach of the average enthusiast,” Mills explained.
This dash can cater to the traditional import crowd, drag racing crowd, pro-touring crowd, or just someone that wants an awesome dash display in their car. The LCD Sportsman will be shipping March 1st of 2015 and the LCD Competition dash, which has been out for a couple of years now to race teams only, can be obtained on December 15th of this year.
