Second-Gen Camaro lovers, take note! We found this little ‘72 Camaro Z28 over on eBay, and it’s a real Z/28 car equipped with the RS package and a 4-speed. According to the listing, the car was recently pulled from a 100-plus GM car collection and features cranberry red paint, an all original black interior, the ever important 4-speed Muncie, and even wears a set of F-15 Goodyear Polyglas bias plies.

While we certainly can’t vouch for it’s authenticity, it clearly looks like the real deal in the pictures. Camaro lovers will dig the split bumper and round turn signal package on the nose of the car, which were standard equipment on RS package.

Chevrolet produced 68,656 Camaros in 1972. 970 were SS396 cars, and this was the last year for the SS model. 1972 was also the year that the badging changed from “Z/28” to “Z28.” Horsepower ratings continued to drop, thanks to higher and higer emissions regulations, but also due to a little bit of math and measuring.

Beginning with the 1972 model year companies began to rate horsepower in net ratings (with full engine accessories) as opposed to the old gross (engine only) style. As a result the 3500cui LT1 installed in Z/28 cars dropped from 330 gross horsepower in 1971 to 255 net for 1972.
