Back when the 5th generation Camaro first debuted, GM pledged to keep their new muscle car feeling fresh and new with special packages and variants rolling out regularly. We have to say, GM has kept its promise, delivering short-lived special editions like the Synergy Green Camaro alongside high-performance models like the new Camaro Z/28.
The latest addition to the the muscle car color palette will come later this summer, when production begins on new Deep Magenta Metallic colored Camaros. GM Authority reports that this new Camaro hue will be unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show next month, though it is already available on another car in the Chevy lineup.
That car is the Chevy Sonic, which in July of 2013 was offered with two new color options, the aforementioned Magenta Metallic, and a neat Cool Blue well. GM will offer the Magenta color on the Camaro after the Chicago reveal, though production won’t actually begin until June. This stand-out color is going to be highly visible, so low-key people need not apply.
Joining the Magenta Metallic Camaro will be the Spring Edition, which comes in a crisp Summit White accented by a Blue Ray racing stripe. While the Spring Edition will be offered on both V6 and V8 Camaros, we’re not sure what trim levels the Magenta hue will be coupled with. We’ll find out in a few short weeks at the Chicago Auto Show.
