If there is any one vehicle that represents everything America stands for, it is the full-size pickup truck. And you can talk all day about sales figures, but there is nothing more all-American, more classic, more hardy and reliable, or blue-collar than the Chevy pickup truck. We think you agree and we certainly think the same way here at ChevyHardcore.
But if you really want to represent America in a pickup truck, you need to not only beef it up with a big-block V-8 under the hood, but add something special. Something special like the supercharger sitting on top of the 454 ci V-8 powering this 1972 Chevy longbed pickup for sale at Eric’s Muscle Cars.
This completely rebuilt engine was put together by the master mechanics at Automasters in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and while specific horsepower figures aren’t quoted, we can make an educated guess. We think 500 horsepower out of this supercharged, chromed-out 454 ci V-8 engine is probably on the conservative side, and there is plenty of torque to go around as well.
As for the rest of the truck? It is painted a lovely pastel turquoise color that is so very 1960s, sporting a big white bench seat, and a raised hood to accommodate that big-block engine. The only hints at the horsepower this beast has is the blower scoop poking through the bonnet, and the massive slicks at the rear of the truck. Otherwise this could be any well-kept cruiser. This would be one fun ride to the local hardware store, and it can be yours for just $46,900.
