It’s not every day that you see an old 50’s gasser up for sale, but type in “gasser” in the search bar on eBay Motors, and you might be surprised at just how many of these nostalgic drag racers you find. While most of these cars are serious project cars, a few of them are legitimate 60s era survivors like the one we caught wind of on Legendary Finds. Sure, you can still find a vintage gasser these days, but you’d probably be hard-pressed to find one as straight and tight as this one.
The ‘55 Bel Air 150/210 gasser is powered by a 1969 427 V8 that’s been modified to measure 468 cubic-inches.
The engine features an Edelbrock Air Gap intake, Holley street and strip 750cfm carburetor, roller rockers, a midrange hydraulic camshaft and Unilite distributor. It also has an MSD Digital 6 ignition.
Touting the engine’s power you’ll find an exhaust system complete with sprint car mufflers and Lemons fender well headers.
The powerful engine is matted to a four-speed Richmond HD transmission with a heavy-duty shift linkage and Lakewood Scattershield. An old-school 12-bolt makes up the rear end with bolt-in axles and 3.73 gears while air shocks and rear leaf springs give this mighty gasser a smooth ride.
This nostalgic gasser features the perfect combination of modern performance and classic styling
We’ve come across some pretty nice gassers in our time, but this one far exceeds many that are still being driven today. Unfortunately, the lot for this car has expired on eBay, but the car didn’t sell. Call us crazy, but we have a feeling that this impressive gasser will be relisted on the auction site soon if someone doesn’t snatch it up before then.
