Death Valley National Park is known for its desolate environment and incredibly high temperatures, making it not good for much. Unknown to us, it is apparently good for drifting a rented Camaro, however. Yes, you read that right – Death Valley and drifting a rented Camaro. You’ll just have to watch the Vimeo video above to see what we’re talking about.
The video stars 25-year-old race car driver Junior Strous. What possessed him to take his rented Camaro out into the desert of Death Valley (aside from a lack of law enforcement) we don’t know, but it does make for a good video. As it turns out, the dry clay ground of Death Valley makes for some decent drifting and even better effects when kicked up into a cloud of dust.
Although Death Valley drifting looks like a lot of fun, we can’t say it’s the brightest idea. I mean, can you image trying to explain that to the rental car company, let alone to the towing company when something breaks? I guess those kind of things don’t cross your mind when you’re a very successful young race car driver. We just hope Strous washed the car before taking it back.
