No matter how many burnout videos we see, they never get boring, especially when they involve a first-gen Camaro equipped with a 509cui big block. Featured on Spohn Performance’s Facebook page as part of the company’s “Let’s Light ‘Em Up” Friday feature, the video above features such a car. What can we say? Spohn has got a good eye for impressive rides.

Owned by Jamie Wiersma of Jenison, Michigan, the ‘69 Camaro RS/SS in this video is a sight to be seen. Originally an X22-code Camaro with a 396cui engine, this Camaro now features a 509cui engine, capable of around 560hp, a Ford 9-inch rear end and 4.10 rear end gears. The car is also equipped with a reverse manual valve body TH400 transmission and transmission brake system.

As you can see, the trans brake system allows Wiersma to do a full fledged burnout without having the car move, while the reverse manual TH400 allows him to up-shift mid-rubber flinging. If you’ve ever needed a reason to put a trans brake and a reverse manual valve body transmission into your classic muscle car, this would be it.

To top it off, the Camaro is finished off in a nice jet black color with crisp white racing stripes, a color combination not seen too often on classic muscle cars. While it’s not too flashy, the paint scheme sure does make the car look sexy and allows for the 509 to speak for itself.

With almost 1.5 million views of this YouTube video since 2006, we’re definitely not the only ones impressed with Wiersma’s Camaro and burnout abilities. As the previous owner of Camaros like a ‘91 RS, ‘94 Z28 and a ‘99 SS, Wiersma definitely knows how to have fun in F-bodies. Rumor has it that he might just be treating YouTube fans to a burnout video featuring his ‘10 Nickey Stage 2 Camaro in the spring. We look forward to it!
