The off-roading world is filled with tons of fun, but also lots of danger. Luckily, most of us skirt along the edge between the two never facing a gnarly crash or accident. But when someone in the off-road community does, we couldn’t ask for a better outcome than the one seen in the video above. After all, the statement “We’re f**king good” is music to the ears after witnessing a nasty endo on sand. Hat tip to Jalopnik.
The video above was filmed by Blake Wilcox, an off-road enthusiast who lives in the Greater Detroit Area of Michigan. Over the weekend, him and some friends went out to one of Michigan’s prime off-roading locals, the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. It was there that two friends attempted an epic jump in an older Chevy Silverado, only to find themselves with faces full of sand.
While the run up the hill and consequent jump looked good, things turned south when the truck dove nose first into the sand. This caused the truck to do a slow and dramatic end-over-end flip before coming to a rest on its roof.
Luckily, both men were able to get out of the overturned truck’s cab after the rollover and and walk away under their own power. The crumpled and bent Silverado pickup truck was eventually righted with the help of another truck (which you can see in the video below), and also apparently exited the sand dunes under its own power.
We’re very happy that no one was hurt in this thrilling, but quite crazy stunt. Things could have gone wrong here very easily, and then this would not be funny at all. So this video should probably be labeled “How not to jump a truck at Silver Lake Sand Dunes.” Thankfully, all occupants of the airborne Silverado were wearing there seat belts. Here’s to riding safe out there!
