The  School of Automotive Machinists (SAM) is one of the best automotive tech schools out there, and they teach the tricks of the trade not only in a classroom, but at dragstrips all over the country.

Their impressive ’99 Hugger Orange Camaro SS has won more awards, impressed more race fans, and has been featured in more magazines than any school project typically would. While their combination is ever-changing, they continue to be a dominant force in LSX drag racing – bringing home the All-Motor Championship from the 2009, 2010, and 2011 LSX Shootout.

Recently, we found this burnout video of the SAM Camaro at a drag racing event (naturally), and although there’s a lot of tire smoke and music in the background it’s not what you might expect. Typically you would hear the howling from a massive engine, heavy metal music, and cheering from the fans in the bleachers.

However, in this video you hear and see almost none of that. What you experience in this video, is an atypical, but nonetheless impressive slow-motion burnout overlayed with soft, swelling, relaxing music. We’re not knocking it, in fact, we think it’s one of the coolest things we’ve ever seen, and it’s a wonder that more people don’t make videos like this.
