Unless you’ve been on a technology sabbatical, hiking from Cape Columbia to Cape Froward, you probably know that last Saturday the world got its first official look at the sixth generation Camaro. We had a chance to see it for ourselves and do a bit of test driving around the Belle Isle grand prix course, as well as talk to some of the most influential people inside of General Motors about the development of this new car.
In this video, LSXMag host Dennis Pittsenbarger talks to Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser, GM Executive Vice President and President, North America Alan Batey, Camaro exterior design director Tom Peters, and GM CEO Mary Barra about the just-unveiled 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. Then, we get to take a hot lap with Dennis around Detroit’s Belle Isle race circuit in the new 6th gen.
While it may superficially resemble its predecessor, the new Camaro is a whole different driving experience, and we’re sure that once they start to hit the roads, people will be amazed by how much more rewarding they are once you’re behind the wheel. In the meantime, though, we can give you just a taste of what it’s like to drive the latest GM pony car. Enjoy!
