On occasion we all like to play video games, especially fast racing games like Need For Speed. We get to race around on the streets running from cops and other race cars without worrying about getting a speeding ticket or hurting ourselves and other pedestrians.
What happens when someone thinks they can play a video game in real life? Over on autoholics.com, we found a couple of guys that thought they could speed excessively and run from the cops in their new Camaro like they where in a video game.
For over an hour, a 23-year-old from New Mexico took police on a chase down an interstate in a new Camaro SS. The drive’rs speed was in excess of 120mph while dodging spike strips and even avoided police who unsuccessfully tried to brake out the windows. Finally, the police where able to get a spike strip under the car’s wheels, blowing all for tires making the Camaro loose all traction and had no choice but to stop and surrender to the cops.
The driver was arrested and admitted to having some shots of tequila and a few beers a few hours prior to the speed fest. Although there was a passenger, he was not charged. Even though the new Camaro is super fast, it shows you that you can’t run from the police. Unlike playing the video game, this guy is out of a pretty cool car and will most likely spend some time in his local jail. Maybe next time he’ll choose to get on his video game system and dodge cops that way.
