Yes, you read the title right, this is a stock bottom end LS3 making over 900 horsepower.

Jaime Rodriguez, or, J-Rod6410 on the Camaro5 forums, built every aspect of the engine and fuel system on his 2010 Camaro SS to handle all the power he wants to throw at it – the only thing he left stock is the bottom end. Some of the parts Rodriguez used in his build included Manely pushrods and valve springs, an LPE returnless dual fuel pump system, Kooks long tube catless headers, Cold Fusion 35 shot nitrous plate kit, and an ECS Paxton Novi 1500 base kit with a 3.33-inch pulley amongst many other mods to the top end.

Matt Sorian of Florida Speed and Power (FSP) was the man that tuned Rodriguez’s Camaro, and damn did he do a good job. The car was tuned by Sorian at Fast Automotive in Houston, Texas on their DynoJet, where it made 904 rear wheel horsepower and 748 pound-feet on the first pull. After a few tuning adjustments and a 35 shot of nitrous, he ran the car a second time where it made its best numbers ever – 919 peak RWHP and 749 pound-feet of torque.

An LS3 with factory block, pistons, rods, and crankshaft with all of the right supporting mods making over 900 horsepower at the wheels is really impressive. We’re really curious as to how reliable the setup is making that much power on a stock bottom end and stock transmission, but hey, it works!
