Most people love to have music in their car, driving along with your significant other, cruising on a warm summer day listening to the tunes. It never gets old and with the quality of audio systems these days we’re seeing more and more muscle cars and hot rods with beefed up audio to match their beefed up ride. Fun music in cars is nothing new, but fun cars in music has been gaining momentum these past few years.
We’ve seen lots of famous people who have great car collections, and even a hard rocker or two here and there. And we’re all familiar with the street rod in the ZZ Top videos that brought great music and bad ass cars together. Somehow, seeing hot rods and muscle cars in videos just seems to make the music sound even that much better. How do you make it even better than that? Add some great looking girls to the video and you’ve got a winning combination.
From his forthcoming album “Good Guys” due out in September of this year, Bucky Covington teamed up with Shooter Jennings for “Drinking Side of Country” and it looks like they had a blast on this video. Starting out with a clean Chevy El Camino complete with a trio of bronco riders in the back, they run out of gas while fleeing the law and switch to a “barn find” for the rest of their getaway.
The barn find is a nice first gen Camaro that gets them out of trouble and takes them off to their party, where you’ll find a few more nice street rods, hot rods and muscle cars. We would never encourage anyone to drink and drive, or to run from the law, but when you’ve got a catchy tune and lots of talent you can just about get away with anything and everything. Just make sure you’re doing it for a music video and not for the Drinking Side of Country.
