Those of us that slept through Physics class in high school did so at our own peril. The apparent risk, of course, was little more than some embarrassment at being discovered or – at worst – a detention. Still, there were likely some ideas that did get through and left us with a fundamental, if not brilliantly clear, understanding of the world.

Now, it seems that there is a special case for those who sleep through Physics while wearing their MP3 player. This was doubtless the case for the pickup driver in the video below.

We’ve seen a few other jump videos here, but the difference in this one is that it is set up to jump between ramps, not over the crest of some hill. Even stunts like that can go poorly, but most happen by going too fast, not too slow.

The consequences of not leaving the ramp fast enough are fully explored in this video. Certainly, it’s a form of high intensity learning and a lesson that won’t be forgotten. Still, we’re left wondering if some prior exposure to Evil Knievel might have prepared the driver more appropriately.
