In this video we recently came across on YouTube, MGP shows how to install a set of their aluminum caliper covers on the WD-40 2010 Camaro SS, as a simple and quick way to add a whole lot of visual appeal to your car. These particular caliper covers were custom engraved by MGP for the WD-40 Camaro, and given a durable yellow powdercoat finish that will provide years of good looks, as opposed to only weeks with most caliper paints.

MGP’s caliper covers aren’t some cheap red plastic eBay pieces meant to trick your friends into thinking you have Brembos. MGP’s covers are hydraulically formed from 6061-T6 aerospace quality aluminum, which is TIG welded where needed before they are powder coated in a range of colors. You can even have custom CNC engraving done on your covers if you want.

In the video, MGP reports that this is one of the first covers that they have designed to fit a true set of big brakes like the SS comes equipped with stock, and the installation is just a little different from their other applications. Either way, the install of the caliper covers is a snap – literally. With the MGP caliper covers you simply snap on the supplied stainless steel clips on each end of the caliper, slide the cover over the studs on the clips, and tighten the 3/8-inch nuts. You’ll want to check the clearance of everything to make sure none of the moving parts are rubbing. In the video MGP shows a cool trick of using a cut business card to check the clearances if you don’t have a feeler gauge handy.

MGP's caliper covers aren't meant to fool anyone into thinking you have big brakes when you don't. They are meant to improve the overall look of your calipers and wheels while helping to stop so much brake dust from building up on your wheels.
