Despite what anyone says, some of us will never get tired of seeing a first gen Camaro, as long as it’s a little different from all the others that we see. The ’69 Camaro is arguably one of the most popular Camaros, even though a good example is easy to find at almost any Chevy car show. They almost always look similar, but like snowflakes it’s hard to find two that are alike.
So when Littlefield Customs wanted to build a statement vehicle to showcase their workmanship, they turned to Chris Alston’s Chassisworks catalog to get a sub-frame and suspension under their 1969 Camaro so it would handle, and Chassisworks had everything they needed. From the front sub-frame to the 4-link rear suspension, this car was destined to be a statement if there ever was one.
Starting with off-the-shelf parts that you can order directly from the Chassisworks catalog, the bolt-on g-Machine Front Subrame can be ordered with a suspension and steering package to form a complete system. This direct-fit sub-frame features Chassiswork’s g-Machine double A-arms, rack-and-pinion crossmember, and you pick which components you want to form a complete suspension solution, including steering, sway bar, brakes, spindles and coil over shocks.
The Pro Touring Rear Suspension System is equally impressive, with coil over shocks, canted upper bars, lower control arms and sway bar. The rear does require welding, but just like their other suspension components, it comes with very easy to read and follow instructions that walk you through the entire installation process.
Watching the videos is a good testament that Chassisworks components was a good choice for Littlefield Customs‘ statement vehicle, and what a great statement that makes. Contact Chassisworks through their website to see what they have for your car, they aren’t limited to suspensions – or first gen Camaros.
