Money may not buy happiness, if the old saying is true, but it sure can buy a lot of fun, cool things…things like the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. With 580 horsepower, a supercharged 6.2 liter engine, magnetic ride suspension, so on and so forth, it has everything you could ever want to help you attain your quest to go fast.
But there is another thing money can’t buy; skill. Sure, you can hire trainers and track teachers, but ultimately that all comes down to practice, practice, practice. Which is the only explanation we have as to why in this next video, a Camaro ZL1 some how, some way runs two of the most pathetic quarter-miles we have ever seen for a 500+ horsepower car.
And of course the car the brand new Camaro ZL1 first lines up against is a riced-out Honda Civic. According to the poster, this Camaro ZL1 had just 300 miles on it, which might explain why the driver babies it down the track to a 15.4 at 105 mph.
But then the ZL1 lines up again, and the same thing happens, with the driver basically idling off of the finish line. We get it, we really do; who wants to break their new toy the first time to the drag strip? Why go all-out if the car might be too much for you to handle? It’s a better attitude than being cocky enough to put it into the wall…but if you’re going to take a Camaro ZL1 to the drag strip, maybe you should rent some private practice time first?
Really though, losing to a Civic…?
