We love Bob Seger. He’s an amazing musician with some of the best music we’ve ever heard and has been one of our favorites for years and years. His song “Like A Rock,” graced Chevrolet commercials for years and years, instilling the spirit of Chevrolet.
He’s back with a catchy new song, called “Detroit Made.” Seger himself was born and raised in Michigan, with a huge influence on his life coming from the car industry that surrounded him. This new song is all about good, old-fashioned Detroit steel along with the people that made the city great. Seger sings about his “Deuce and a Quarter,” a slang term for the Buick Elantra 225. “Big-block, she’ll do all the work,” another lyric boasts with a reference to General Motors. The rest of the video Seger references many things about classic cars, from the chrome to the carpet.
The video itself shows little clips of all sorts of muscle cars from a 1970 Chevelle, to a Mustang, and everything in-between. Other clips showing Detroit are all over and people enjoying the community and helping to rebuild it into its former glory.
If you love Bob Seger, then you’ll love his latest song. If you love songs about cars, you’ll love it too. If you love songs about Detroit, you’ll love it. At the end of the day, you’ll probably love the song as much as we do!
