What do you get when you pair a large, empty parking lot, a gorgeous Holden Monaro, methanol, a blown small-block, and an Australian? These videos, that’s what! Anytime we surf YouTube, we’re always on the hunt for the crazy goings-on that happen in the Land Down Under, because while kangaroos are in large supply, it’s apparent that police aren’t (or just don’t care about hotrodders).
They say folks from Texas do it bigger; we’d be inclined to say that folks from Oz do it biggest! From the monster, world-record burnout en masse we featured a little while back to the nine-second Bronco that roams the local racetracks, it seems like the Aussies have a hankering for horsepower.
That said, when we found these videos floating around the interwebs, we knew this car would likely be the perfect choice for you, our dear readers. From the 410 cubic-inch small-block featuring a healthy dose of methanol injection to the BDS blower sitting on top of the engine to the huge, low-profile big-ass wheels and tires, this machine simply screams awesome.
We especially enjoyed watching the GoPro footage of the engine bay in the lead video – not once did we see the butterflies atop the blower open fully, but the donuts and huge black streaks left us with a smile on our face long into the afternoon. There’s something about a carbon-fiber blower hat, wheel tubs, and a rollcage in a street car that gets us going every time. Not to mention the wicked exhaust note – this wild car would look great in our garage.
And how come there aren’t any sanctioned events like this here? A place to do monster burnouts without fear of reprisal from the authorities would be a welcome addition in most cities here in the States. Check out the videos and turn up the volume to enjoy the sweet, sweet symphony of blown horsepower.
