This video showcases a swell-looking but complicated 1936 Ford 5-window coupe. While it may be Ford and old-fashioned on the outside, the inside is nothing but Chevrolet and new, with modern amenities like air conditioning and a stereo. 

At just 1,030 miles on its new motor, this thing has just barely gotten its feet wet. The young engine is an LS3, constructed by the Turn Key Company of Oceanside, California. It has a stroker crank with heads that have been “worked.” There’s also an LS7 cam that apparently performs better than the LS3 version, which gets the car to accelerate “like a rocket,” claims the owner. The transmission used is a 4L60 with a 2,800 rpm stall speed converter. The sound tells all on a car like this, and it sure sounds good to our ears. Some stuff is custom, such as the air cleaner and valve covers. 

The leather interior isn’t too shabby, either, and is once again custom-made: the moldings, the headliner, the armrests, and everything in between. This work was done by Gabe’s Custom Interiors from San Bernardino, California. The rear seat cover can be removed to show a hidden compartment, where the computer and electronics are stored. 

The gauges are custom-made to resemble the originals, maintaining respect for what the car once was, and a 400W stereo rounds out the interior. The outside looks great, too, with a custom grill and headlamps. The retro wheels are made to order by The Wheel Smith of Corona, California. Not much was overlooked on this car, but we think it’s missing some pinstriping, you know? Let us know what you think.
