Last year Power Automedia debuted an all-original, action-filled competitive show called Horsepower Wars, beginning with the Pony Wars series–in the classic battle of Ford versus Chevy–before moving on to the acclaimed 10K Drag Shootout. With millions of viewers and rave reviews, Horsepower Wars returns with even more intensity in 2019.
Horsepower Wars showcases an array of talented automotive engine builders, racers, and tuners. With every series, there will be a shootout between two or more competitors where you, as the audience, can view all the excitement as it unfolds from the build to the competition–until the winner is crowned.
Starting in 2019, there will be not just one… not just two… but three Horsepower Wars series! We will be debuting the $10K Drag Shootout 2, Pony Wars 2019, and last but not least, the brand-new Junkyard Challenge. Each series will have its own thrilling storyline that you won’t want to miss.
Just to give you a tiny taste of each of the upcoming series in 2019 we have:
$10K Drag Shootout 2
Our fan-favorite series returns! Four teams race against time (10 days to be exact) to build a drag car with a $10,000 budget. The heat cranks up even more, as we have each team square off in a head-to-head drag race, where there can only be one winner.
Pony Wars 2019
We are bringing back the Mustang vs. Camaro theme, but also adding Mopar into the mix. With all of the twists and turns in this season, you will not want to miss out as these muscle cars test their mettle in a variety of formats–drag strip, dyno, autocross, etc.
Teams will be building affordable trucks using their wit, creativeness, and ingenuity to compete in a fierce variety of racing competitions including off-road, dirt track, tug of war, and more!
“Horsepower Wars was an amazing new launch for us in 2018, and we reached more than three million viewers,” said James Lawrence, Power Automedia’s CEO. “The competitors were amazing, the sponsors helped make it possible, and we can’t wait for 2019 to start. You’re going to have to see it for yourself. We can’t wait to start unveiling our plans, new sponsors, and challenges. I’m really proud of our production team’s work on this, and next year is going to be a blast.”
