News out of San Dimas, California, at the end of February, informed the aftermarket community that PerTronix Performance brands had announced the company acquired the Grandview, Missouri company, Taylor Cable Products Inc.

Taylor Cable has provided products to the performance and racing markets for over 90 years. High-performance components like racing spark plug wires, battery boxes, battery cables, and other accessories for performance automotive enthusiasts. 

John Taylor founded Taylor Cable Products in 1923 with his universal battery cable as the prime product. Prior to Taylor’s universal battery cable, automotive manufacturers had unique cables to their own brands. Taylor added ignition wire sets and wire harnesses soon after.

The San Dimas, California-based Pertronix Brands already represented a large part of the aftermarket industry by managing PerTronix Ignition, Aeromotive, JBA Performance Exhaust, Doug’s Headers, Patriot Exhaust, Waterman Racing Components, Compu-Fire, and Skype brands.

Adding Taylor Cable to its already wide portfolio, PerTronix Brands now has several high-performance ignitions, fuel delivery, and exhaust choices for hot rodders, muscle car enthusiasts, and late model vehicle owners.
