Nowadays, it seems as if folks will drop an LS power plant in just about anything- with wheels or without. With the growing popularity of the swap there is naturally a selection of common donor vehicles. We’ve all seen about a million Fox-body Mustangs rolling around with Chevy V8 power under the hood. While a well built fox can be impressive, this swap will in all likelihood blow your mind to pieces. Plopping an LS platform in an army Jeep is something that we here at LSXTV haven’t even seen before!
With the current setup, it is most definitely safe to say that this thing is a sleeper. You may even go as far as saying that this ride defines “sleeper.” The Willys sits at a modest 300 HP with the 4.8L/4L80 combo. Soon, however it will be receiving a little “get up and go assistance” in the form of a Nitrous Express system, installed and tuned by Craven Performance, to bolster it to the 500 horsepower ballpark. Eventually a twin turbo kit will be thrown in the equation as well, and we all know how that tends to turn out. When you factor in the fact that the whole shebang weighs in at less than 1,900 pounds, driver included, it becomes an even more devious machine. All in all, we give the owner a 10/10 for creativity. Now all it needs is a roll cage to safely use all that LS power and she’ll be a complete street beast.
