Amidst the recent reveal that shipment of the all-new 2015 Corvette Z06 Stingray is underway to dealers nationwide, General Motors finds good reason to celebrate. Receiving a stellar review and high markings on the Consumer Reports’ annual ownership-satisfaction survey, 95-percent of Corvette owners surveyed said they would select the beloved American supercar as their ride of choice once more if in the market for a new vehicle.
The survey which includes voluntary feedback from approximately 350,000 vehicle owners, seeks out the response of owners in possession of one to three year old autos. Adding to a strong launch of the 2015 Z06 with and excited market anticipating the release, General Motors is assuredly pleased with the survey results.
With the initial reveal of the 2015 ZO6, it was unveiled there were many changes and development were in the works. With that said there is always a bit of concern in the ivory towers of any auto manufacturer of how well the changes will be received and if the consumers approve.
Looking ahead with new changes such as the implant of the new 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged engine and the two gearbox options (standard seven-speed manual transmission or the 8L90 eight-speed paddle shift automatic transmission), the Chevrolet Corvette appears to be poised to maintain its role as the supercar of choice in the North American market.
Throwing down an estimated 650 hp that peaks around 6400 rpm and with 640 lb-ft finding its peak at around 3600 rpm, the Z06 Stingray is packing both performance and efficiency with improved fuel consumption as well. With power and fuel efficiency typically the two biggest factors in the purchase of a new automobile, the new Corvette Z06 is a win with-out a doubt for the consumer on many levels. What are your thoughts? Are you a current Vette owner and if so would you choose the Vette as your ride of choice for a second round?
