This black 1957 Chevrolet two-door hardtop is not only a stunning car, but it is a clone of the first car that the owner, Bob Ferari of Federal Way, Washington, had when he was in high school. It’s the classic story of boy has cool car in high school, boy gets responsibilities, boy sells car, and decades later the same boy, now a man, goes and buys the same kind of car — but this time as a financially stable adult.

There are a few things we can do differently as adults that might be hard to do in high school, and this ’57 Chevy is an example of a restomod done right! He has had the car for about a year now and it is the product of a frame off restoration. No longer sporting the old drivetrain that GM built it with several decades ago, it is now powered by a 430 horsepower 383 cubic-inch engine.

The rest of the drivetrain has also been improved with a turbo 350 transmission and Ford 9-inch rearend with 4.56:1 gears. The system is also now fueled by a Holley four barrel carburetor and the ignition is powered by MSD electronics.

The ride has been upgraded with front tubular rack and pinion steering, an Ididit steering column, disc brakes all around, and hydraboost braking power. “It’s almost too much,” Bob said in regards to the power of his serious braking system. “Usually guys put that on with a big cam. This has a mild cam and the extra stopping power is just good to have.”

The absolutely stunning custom interior features Classic Instruments gauges, a Flaming River steering wheel, and a Vintage Air A/C setup for those 80 degree summer days when you’re driving a black car with black interior.

This is a well-built car with great options and we can’t say there is much we’d do differently. It is built to drive well and keep you comfortable with the improved suspension and A/C, while it is also made to look good with the stunning black paint contrasted with all new chrome, trim, and Billet Specialties wheels.
