Residents of Central Indiana know the Month of May approaches when they start seeing uniquely decorated Chevrolets cruising the local roads. That tradition fired up again this week as Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials unveiled the official vehicles for the upcoming 2025 Indy 500 Festival Event: the Chevy Silverado 1500 RST and C8 Corvette Stingray.
Continuing a practice dating back to the 1960s, Chevrolet provides a fleet of specially prepared vehicles to help build excitement in the weeks leading up to the iconic race, scheduled this year for May 25th. For the 109th running, the fleet comprises 39 identically prepared 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST pickup trucks and a contingent of 2025 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertibles.
These vehicles stand out thanks to a custom graphics package. The Silverados start with Summit White Tintcoat paint, while the Corvettes wear Arctic White. Both feature dual green stripes bordered by gold pinstripes, along with prominent Indianapolis 500 logos displayed on the doors.
The trucks ride on 22-inch high-gloss black aluminum wheels, and the Corvettes sport gloss black forged aluminum wheels, completing the distinctive look. Inside, the Silverado RST trucks feature Jet Black leather upholstery. Under the hood, each Silverado 1500 RST Festival truck packs Chevrolet’s well-known naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 engine.
The truck also produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, sending power through a GM 10-speed automatic transmission. A dual-active exhaust system adds an appropriate V8 soundtrack.
Chevrolet views providing these vehicles as a key part of the Indy 500 countdown. “Seeing these Silverados on the road throughout Central Indiana will embody the passion Chevrolet, IMS, and the 500 Festival have for the Indianapolis 500,” stated Alyssa Haba, Chevrolet’s motorsports strategic planning and operations manager. These cars and trucks serve as mobile billboards, signaling the impending arrival of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
