The name Corvette has always been synonymous with speed and performance – true sports cars. Anyone that has ever owned the ’60s and ’70s C2 and C3 models can tell you that they are not known for having the smoothest ride. The “sagging” suspension leads to difficult handling and a rough ride. Luckily, the crew over at Ridetech came up with a solution. This system is completely bolt-on and can be installed in just a few hours. Plus, you get to keep that vintage look while modernizing your ride quality.
Let’s get down to what makes this system so great. The star of the show are the Ridetech adjustable mono-tube shocks. Featuring Fox technology, these shocks are specifically tuned for the needs of your classic Corvette. They have a wide range of adjustments to cater to your driving style. Even better, they have a 1,000,001 mile warranty.
The front shocks are replaced with Hyperco dual-rate units that will mount directly in place of your original shocks and will provide a slight drop in your factory ride height. However, if you want to keep that stock height there are rubber spacing mounts that are available as well. The dual-rate helps provide that soft ride over small bumps that everyone enjoys as well as being able to stiffen up at higher strokes to give you that beloved cornering precision. The fronts also have new Delrin bushings for the control arms as well as a stronger front sway bar.
The rear composite leaf springs are also made from Hyperco. They remove more than 30lbs from the rear suspension. Spacers in the leaf mounts are also included to allow you to adjust the rear height by about an inch.
When you are ready to spruce up your suspension on your 1963-1986 C2 or C3 Corvette all of these parts can be purchased individually or as a kit here
