Gear heads all across the country are getting revved up for the 2013 Hot Rod Power Tour which will kick off this weekend in Arlington, Texas. There are a lot of great stops scheduled along the way, but we recently learned that the Power Tour will be making a one day and one night stop off in COMP Cams stomping ground of Memphis, Tennessee.
The fun will start next Tuesday, June 4th as an expected 2,000 hot rods will start to roll into Memphis International Raceway (MIR). At MIR gear heads can participate in some drag strip action, hit the circle track, and visit with the hometown cam gurus from COMP (who will also have their trailer set up at every other stop along the way). Later that afternoon COMP will be hosting the Engine Builder Duel at 3:00 PM, in which two teams will compete to see who can assemble a functional small block Chevy engine in the shortest amount of time.
On the night of the 4th COMP will host Hot Rods on Beale Street – an event that is believed to be the city’s largest ever automotive block party. The COMP crew will personally select 100 of the most stand-out rides to line world famous Beale Street. Winners will get a police escort to take them from MIR down to Beale Street for the party. Of course, every Power Tour participant is welcome at the party and there is plenty of parking around the event.
COMP can’t wait to host so many gear heads and their awesome rides right in their home town and show them everything that makes Memphis a great city. For more info check out the CPG Nation website, and let us know below if you’ll be joining the party in COMP country.
