Detroit’s worst-kept secret these days has got to be the Chevy Camaro Z/28. We’ve seen literally dozens of spy shots of this car from all across the country. We’ve even narrowed the engine down to, in all likelihood, the supercharged LSA V8 found in the Cadillac CTS-V. What we have not yet seen is a clear view of the always-camouflaged Chevy’s exterior, and we’ve mostly had to rely on grainy spy pictures and photo renderings.
So we found ourselves another one. Left Lane News, using all the spy shots as a reference, has come up with what they think the next Chevy Camaro Z/28 has to look like.
The Z/28 package is historically a very important package to the Camaro. There has not been a Z/28 Camaro in over eight years, and to be honest, the last Z/28 was package was rather underwhelming. The new Z/28, however, will have more than enough power to differentiate it from the standard Camaro SS, probably in the neighborhood of 540 horsepower at the flywheel.
But will the looks help it stand out from your run-of-the-mill Camaro SS? Well there would be no mistaking Left Lane’s rendering for a stock Camaro. Just check out that louvered cheese-grater hood and that aggressive chin spoiler. The wheels on this rendering are just one of what is expected to be several different styles, but other than the hood and front fascia, this looks like your standard Camaro. To be honest, we were hoping for a bit more flair, but as long as we get the Z/28 back, we’re not too worried about how it looks; just how it performs.
