Horsepower Wars is back for 2019, bigger and better than ever! In Horsepower Wars Season 2, things are stepping up considerably with three exciting shows with a few hidden surprises.
Starting with the return of Pony Wars, a Dodge Challenger will join the mix as the Mopar has a chance to unseat the reigning champion Chevrolet Camaro. But don’t forget about the Ford Mustang. The 2019 Mustang sports a Gen 3 Coyote that is more powerful than ever. The 2017 Mustang lost by the slimmest of margins last season, so the dual-fuel 5.0L could put it over the top of the stagnant Camaro and heavier Challenger.
Meanwhile, the wildly popular $10K Drag Shootout will sport a few rules changes this year to match combinations with different base weights, limit turbo and blower sizes, and allow E85 fuel (to name a few). [The list of preliminary rules as well as filming dates and applications can be found HERE.] Teams again will work with a $3,000 cash budget and $7,000 gift cards from Summit Racing Equipment. The return of the COMP Cams Dream Team will also be announced shortly!
Perhaps, the most shocking revelation, though, is that the reigning champions, Team Bigun, will be competing along side this year’s contestants. That’s right, Lyle Barnett, Eric Yost and company will defend their crown against a whole new crop of builders, racers and tuners.
The brand-new Junkyard Truck Challenge presented by K&N brings the battle to the dirt. Teams will compete to see which truck can end up on top with off road racing, dirt track, tug of war, and a dyno competition. May the best builders win.
