This is old news to those “in the know,” but one of the big stories from the 51st Annual NHRA Winternationals came about when Larry McMillen defeated defending NHRA World Champion Larry Dixon in the first round at Pomona, CA. McMillen had been confident going into the perennial classic after testing in Florida had logged a career-best ET of 3.823 seconds.
