We have been covering the story of Cathy Figuracion, an avid Chevelle enthusiast, and the restoration to her ’71 drop top Chevelle. The car is getting closer to completion, with the wiring, suspension, brakes, motor and transmission complete. The entire dash has been reassembled as well, with the gauges reading accurately. 

With all the systems complete, the key was turned and the engine roared to life. After roughly setting the timing and tweaking the carb, the video was made where you can see and hear the engine running. Walking to the back of the car, you can hear the cam barking up a storm as well, just waiting to boil the tires and snap your neck back with acceleration.

After buttoning up a few more items, the car moved under its own power. Granted the move was only to the end of the driveway, but that’s a huge accomplishment for any restoration. This is the point where you get so excited to drive the car you just can’t stand it. 

All the finishing details have to be completed now, so this car can finally hit the road!
