There’s big and then there’s big. We were amazed when we spotted this monster of a throwback toy hauler from Fast Lane Classic Cars, Inc.over on eBay. This powerhouse is a beautifully restored 1956 Chevy 8500 Series Nostalgic Car Hauler, build specifically for those Tri-Five loyalists that travel to car shows and auctions. Of course, this big ol’ machine isn’t just for looks too, but some serious duty, as these nostalgic haulers are popular with the dealerships (typically as displays as you can imagine).
This particular ’56 started with zero rust and a super-low count of 7,500 original miles. Carefully restored, this turquoise hauler has over 11,000 miles with only 1957 Chevys gracing its long bed. The 8500 Series truck is powered by a rebuilt 350 V8 with an RV cam, rings, bearings and lifters, a new amp meter gauge, a 18-foot Hodges Brand bed with standard ramps and is capable of 55mph without a hiccup.
Other goodies include an all-new brake system including lines, a new 16-gallon gas tank, new fuel lines, an all-new cooling system allowing the big rig to cruise at 190-degrees with a full load, new U-joints, and an aftermarket CD sound system.
Were you to pick this big ol’ baby up for the asking price of $27,900, this ’56 will certainly be the star of the show – even with your Tri-Five on the back.
