The 2016 Camaro is an awesome vehicle to say the least. On sale now, the sixth-generation of Chevrolet’s pony car features more standard horsepower, better build quality, and a more highly-refined chassis than any Camaro that preceded it. Yet the introduction of the sixth-gen also leaves a gap in the power and performance lineup with the current absence of the Z28 and ZL1 badges.
While we’re fairly certain that both those monikers and packages will make a welcome return to the Camaro lineup, there’s still something missing for the rabid enthusiasts who want more than just the standard 455 horsepower. Those seeking more performance must go a different route. That route may just be with a new Camaro from Callaway Cars.

Responsible for peaking the power numbers in the Callaway SC600 Camaro is the Callaway GenThree supercharger based on the tried and true Eaton TVS2300 Rotor Pack. “While we engineered a complete package that enhances the new car’s performance, our GenThree supercharger is the heart of the Callaway Camaro SC600,” said Mike Zoner, Managing Director of Callaway Cars. “The TVS 2300cc based supercharger rises prominently through the hood, staying cool as it produces serious horsepower, run after run and lap after lap. The Callaway Camaro SC600 offers supercar capabilities with superb drivability and full compliance. It’s simply an amazing car.”
To keep heat down, the SC600 utilizes Callaway’s triple-element intercooler. “The 2016 Camaro is a superb car that’s light, nimble and fun to drive,” said Reeves Callaway, founder and CEO of Callaway Cars. “We designed the Callaway Camaro SC600 to deliver an even more driver-focused experience for those seeking even more power. Using the TripleCooled™ technology we developed for the Corvette Z06, we created the most powerful Callaway Camaro available today.”
All of this horsepower and performance comes in either coupe or convertible form, and with the buyer’s choice of automatic or manual transmission. Callaway authorized dealers are currently taking pre-orders, and the package is undergoing final validation for horsepower and performance now. Production of this limited edition Camaro is expected to begin in the first quarter of this year.
