Callaway Puts This Camaro in The 11’s Out of the Box

Certainly, there are a lot of shops and tuners that are beyond happy to see the return of the Camaro. Many of the GM faithful had to move into supporting the Mustang during the dark years when there were no new Camaros being produced. Now, there are more special edition and custom built Camaros available than there have ever been.

The name Callaway and hot Chevys have been closely tied for a long time now and so its no surprise that the company has released an upgrade package for the 2011 Camaro SS. At the base level, their SC572 package bumps the manual transmission LS3 engine, not surprisingly, to 572hp at 6400 rpm. Flywheel torque jumps to 541 lb-ft at 4000 rpm. These numbers are slightly lower (552/521) for the L99 automatic transmission engine.

This is good enough, according to the company, to enable 0-60 mph performance at the 3.0 second level, with drag results falling into the 11.94 seconds at 119.5 zone. Drivability, fuel economy and factory drivetrain warranty are unaffected by the changes, says the company.

These performance gains are driven by the installation of a TVS 2300 supercharger and liquid-to-air intercooler system. Fuel system changes are made in addition to the installation of low restriction intake and exhaust systems.

Carbon fiber injector covers provide some unique identification under the hood. Callaway branded interior components and badging are added and authenticity documents are provided for the package price of $17,695. You have to supply the vehicle, though.

Optional equipment available from the company includes a chrome-coat housing for the TVS 2300, short throw shifter, Callaway 9-spoke wheels, Eibach coil-over suspension, Callaway LeMans GT brake system, Callaway ‘Power Window’ hood, carbon fiber body components and an extended powertrain warranty.
