BMR Offers New Third-Gen F-Body Lower Control Arms

When it comes to any sort of automotive project, one of the most important aspects is the suspension. However, it’s a common occurrence when building a project to throw parts onto an engine and make a lot of horsepower without upgrading the suspension to match the newfound power. Building any vehicle this way can cause issues with handling and can negatively impact overall performance. The good news is that BMR Suspension is here to solve some of these problems, especially for third-gen F-Body owners. BMR recently released all-new lower control arms for 1982-1992 F-body cars (and some other models). These lower control arms have some great features like grease-able Delrin bushings, DOM tubing construction, heavy-duty ball joints, and are proudly made right here in the United States.

BMR offers two different part numbers for these new lower control arms. Part number AAL331 is for F-bodies running factory-style coil springs, and part number AAL333 is for those making the switch to coilovers. Both part numbers come with a durable powdercoat finish and can be ordered in either red or black hammertone.

Whether you're running factory-style coil springs or coilovers, both control arms have the same high-quality features and construction.

Not only will you get increased handling performance and weight reduction from the tubular design, but the fixture-welded construction ensures a precise fit during installation. The Delrin bushings are the cherry on top. They offer a substantial upgrade over OEM-style bushings. The Delrin bushings add extra stiffness and when combined with the BMR’s heavy-duty DOM steel construction process the result is control arms that eliminate deflection. Additionally, these bushings are internally fluted and have a grease zerk, so that the grease can evenly coat the inner sleeve. The flutes are designed to direct the grease to the outer edge of the bushing, keeping the thrust surface lubricated. This maximizes lubrication and ensures efficient and reliable operation over the life of the bushings.

With the increased performance and an estimated installation time between three and four hours, there are no downsides to choosing these new BMR lower control arms.

The heavy-duty tubular design, fluted Delrin bushings, and heavy-duty ball joints make these control arms an excellent choice for various applications. BMR trusts that these can handle just about anything you throw at them. Whether you’re using them on the drag strip, or a road course, or you just want increased performance on the street, these control arms will inspire confidence in your vehicle’s handling.
