BMR Driveshaft Tunnel Brace For 2016 Camaro

BMR Suspension has complete lines of suspension, drivetrain, and chassis goodies for all kinds of LS-powered GM cars. They include the 4th- and 5th- gen Camaro (1993-2002 and 2010-2015); the Pontiac GTO (2004-2006) and G8 (2008-2009); the 1st-gen Cadillac CTS-V (2004-2007); and the Chevy SS (2014-2016).

Since all of those cars have been around now for at least a few years and have good coverage in the BMR parts catalog, the company is now turning its attention to the 6th-gen Camaro and the company’s two new driveshaft tunnel braces are the first components available from BMR for the 2016 Camaro.

Built from CNC laser-cut 3/16-inch steel plate (PN DTB005) or 1Ž4-inch aluminum plate (PN DTB006), these braces are designed to support and stiffen the factory floor and driveshaft tunnel. This additional chassis rigidity improves the overall steering and chassis feel during spirited backroad or open-track driving. The design reinforces key points of the floor and efficiently reduces deflection when lateral loads are applied to the car’s unibody structure.

BMR designed the braces for any application of the 6th-gen Camaro. The 100-percent bolt-on braces use existing boltholes and hardware, which allows easy installation with basic hand tools. The steel brace weighs 2.7 pounds, while the aluminum one weighs just 1.4 pounds.

BMR is just getting started with new bits and pieces for the 2016 Camaro. Keep an eye out for more BMR components, which will soon be available for the 6th-gen Camaro. The company also has numerous product applications for cars that have been on the market for several years, such as the 2008-09 Pontiac G8.

Once installed, the Driveshaft Tunnel Brace reduces floor and driveshaft tunnel deflection with no change in NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). The braces are available in black hammertone or red powdercoat for durable good looks.

Installation takes about an hour and the steel brace retails for $69.95, while the aluminum version is $179.95.
