While people are spending time and money on making their car look great on the outside, Auto Meter gives car owners something to make their car look great on the inside, too. The COPO Camaro has made a significant impact on the scene, and for the instrumentation, Chevrolet turned to Auto Meter for a few gauges. Those same gauges are available to everyone through Auto Meter to upgrade your modern Camaro.
Auto Meter’s series of COPO Camaro gauges were manufactured to the specifications that Chevrolet expected for the new COPO Camaro. Auto Meter has been providing the automotive industry with over 55 years of experience making racing instrumentation.
These unique instruments have the gold Chevrolet bowtie emblem in the center, and are backlit by white LEDs for great visibility – especially at night. The black face has white numerals that are easy to read, with a red indicator dial for contrast. These gauges are licensed, and are the same gauges that are in the new COPO Camaro. They were designed to commemorate the original Central Office Production Order system used by dealers in 1969 for performance models designated to compete in NHRA Stock Eliminator and Super Stock drag racing classes.
Included in this set of gauges are brake pressure, fuel pressure, oil pressure, transmission temperature, and water temperature. These gauges are powered by the same digital stepper motor drives and sensors that are used in many of today’s NASCAR Cup cars. In addition, a 10,000 RPM tachometer is also emblazoned with the gold bowtie emblem, and includes a shift light and recall display.
Check out Auto Meter’s web site for these and other gauges, including gauges that match other manufacturers, like Dodge and Ford, or for licensed gauges like their Mopar series gauges.
