With a need for speed and a passion for just about anything on four wheels, Caleb Rupp, of Castle Rock, Colorado with around twenty five builds under his belt is currently feeding his addiction for high speed metal in his 2006 Corvette Z51 C6 couple. Growing up wrench in hand, Rupp at an early age gained his passion for American Muscle. Spending many a weekends in the garage, Rupp would learn the ins and outs of auto customization and fabrication.
Eventually when budget would allow Rupp was able to pick up his dream ride thirteen months ago from none other than UFC 4 Champion Travis Lutter. At a great price and already sporting a few mods, Rupp knew this would make a great project car for his first Vette experience.
With the goal in mind to maintain street capability but improve track performance Rupp has enhanced the stock performance of the 364 ci, six-litre V8 with a 2010 6160 E-transmission with a system of coolers and fans mounted under the car. Everything was fabricated by A.I.R. along with a Yank billet 2,800 rpm-stall torque convertor for smoother acceleration and hookup when laying into the pedal. Continuing to ignite performance a custom built Comp 80mm billet tri bearing oilless rear mounted turbo kit was put into place with an upgrade to a VIC Junior single plane intake manifold. Additionally, Fast fuel rails were added while the remaining parts of the fuel system were fabricatd. A Snow Performance methanol injection kit has also been installed, which kicks in once six pounds of boost has been generated. Current power to the pavement is now estimated at around 715 hp with all current modifications.
There are several cosmetic improvements in place as well, both on the exterior and with the addition of underhood chrome additions. Rupp’s 2006 Z51 is sporting a Paul Walker memorial battery cover, as well as a carbon fiber front lip, and upgraded side skirts and rear spoiler improving the overall look and aerodynamics of the Vette. Continuing with an aggressive appearance package all parking markers and tail lights have been blacked out. Upgrades to the interior include LEDs throughout, a new Autometer mechanical boost and fuel pressure gauge as well as a line lock switch mounted on to the A-pillar and a light signaling methanol injection has engaged. The C6 is rolling on Forgestar F14 mono 18-inch wheels with 345/18 MT ET Street II drag radials.
