If you had asked a person in 1967 to imagine the Chevy Camaro of the year 2012, we’re pretty sure none of them would have come up with the car we all know and love today. The current Camaro, while it has some nods to nostalgia, is far more futuristic than competitors like the Ford Mustang or the Dodge Challenger. That has helped a new generation of car designers look even farther into the future…and we like what they see.
The design you see above was penned by Arkadiy Okhman, a software writer turned automotive designer who invisioned what he thinks is the future of the Chevy Camaro. Carscoop featured his work, and like them, we see serious potential. There is actually an incredible amount of detail in Okhman’s drawings. This includes a design for a dual-fuel tank system that would hold both regular and high-octane gasoline, presumably to increase performance. Okhman’s Camaro is also quite compact, perhaps even a two seater and…well, it doesn’t appear to have any doors.
But that’s OK because it’s just a concept! We doubt any designer alive today has the foresight to know what cars will look like in 50 years…but part of the fun is trying to predict it anyways. Who knows if the Camaro will even be around in another 38 years? GM killed it once, and they could kill it again. But let’s not worry about that. Instead, why don’t you tell us- What you think the Camaro of 2050 will look like?
