There’s an old adage about reinventing the wheel which relates to duplicating a basic method that has previously been created or optimized by others. CON2R Inc. is not about to reinvent the wheel, but they have surely redesigned it for real classic car aficionados.

Debuting at the 2019 SEMA show is CON2R’s signature Vonhotrod steering wheel and the all-new Corvette wheel.

CON2R designers and famous modern-day pinstriper Vonhotrod Valdez, got together to design a custom steering wheel that defined the essence of both parties. According to CON2R’s Bob Peterson, “The signature Vonhotrod steering wheel features Vonhotrod’s pinstriping on the spokes and center horn button.”

Peterson went on to explain these Vonhotrod wheels are a “limited edition and available in three colors. We are not sure how many he will do, but they will be a collectible item.”

The second new release for the company is an attractive steering wheel based on the C2 Corvette. “As always, we look backward for inspiration,” says Peterson.  “We asked, ‘what is a more classic look than GT Musclecar than a Corvette?’”

According to Peterson, “the designers modified the original piece, pulled it back to a 15-inch diameter, and manufactured these in a one-inch, a two and three-eights, and a three and three-quarter offset.”

These wheels feature acrylic grips and split colors, along with “all the stuff we can do to customize these wheels your way,” Peterson added. “This includes wood grips or leather wraps.”
