Adding horsepower is always fun but you need to make sure you can bring all those ponies safely to a stop and most stock muscle car brake systems just aren’t up to that task. Baer Brakes can help solve this problem with its Baer Claw Brake Systems, designed for classic muscle cars.
Baer Brakes got its start producing the Baer Claw line of brake systems so they wanted to be sure these new systems would match the original product’s quality. These Classic-Series are a direct bolt-on for early GM, Ford, and Mopar vehicles and are available for both the front and rear. The front brake systems will retail at $695 and the rear at $495.
Rick Elam from Baer Brakes breaks down what vehicles will be included in the first run of the Baer Claw Brake Systems and what each kit will come with.
“We will initially concentrate on systems for domestic muscle cars with small wheels. The first releases will cover GM A-, F-, and X-body cars along with ’65-’76 Mustangs with drum brakes. These are complete bolt-on kits that will include pads, braided hoses, calipers, and rotors. Each front kit will have 11-inch rotors that are slotted, drilled, and zinc plated. In the rear the 10.5-inch rotor will have the same features plus they will come with a single-piston caliper, and the parking brake will be integrated into the caliper. We will also offer a 13-inch front braking system at a later date for these vehicles,” explained Elam.
