SEMA 2016: Perfectly Bushed And Supported With Energy Suspension

If there is one thing that we know for sure, it’s that first-gen Camaros are hugely popular. Sure, the ’69 model gets the most press, but the ’67 and ’68 models are every bit as desirable to car enthusiasts. Such is the case with us, and as soon as we saw this gorgeous ’67 at the Energy Suspension booth at SEMA, we had to take a longer look.

If you like the interior, you can get something just like it by contacting TMI.

Mike Selvaggio is the owner, and when we asked him ‘why this Camaro?’, he told us, “My neighbor had this car sitting in his garage, and one day he said he was thinking of selling it. I told him I was looking for a classic car, so I bought it.” Like many enthusiasts, Mike acquired an incomplete project car, but this one had been started by multiple owners with good intentions. The first enthusiast bought it from the original owner and never completed the car. He then sold it to the gentleman that Mike purchased it from – again, in an unfinished state.

The LS engine looks right at home.

It took Mike a while, but he did eventually finish the project, and now, Mike’s ’67 RS Camaro is properly propelled by an LS3 engine that is mated to a Tremec Magnum transmission. That combination delivers a more than respectable 492 horsepower to the rear tires. Speaking of the rear tires, they are spun by a Currie differential with 3.50 gears. The Camaro is suspended by an Art Morrison front suspension, working in conjunction with a Heidts four-link rear suspension, and the bounces are controlled via a set of Viking double-adjustable coilovers. As you can imagine, all bushings are from Energy Suspension.

We asked Mike about the color he chose for the exterior, as it isn’t one we normally see. He told us, “I wanted something different but classy. I first saw this color on a 1964 Porsche, and I knew it would be perfect for my car.”
