SEMA 2014: The Newest In FAST’s EZ-EFI And Ignition Systems

fast5Making the jump from carburetion to fuel injection used to be difficult, but no more, thanks to companies like FAST and their sweet EZ-EFI offerings. In their SEMA booth this year, the company had a large assortment of products designed to simplify the process of installing fuel injection for the first-time user.

The company’s new EZ-EFI Fuel system is exactly what it sounds like – a way for the user to make the jump, but only with the fuel side of the equation. The system uses one of FAST’s proven throttle-body injection systems (or multi-port injection with a compatible manifold), along with the software from the traditional EZ-EFI system to control the fuel side of the equation.

The system uses a wideband oxygen sensor to self-tune as the driver goes down the road – without the use of a laptop. The hand-held controller uses a touch-screen for easy inputs – if you can work a smartphone, you can set up the EZ-EFI Fuel.

There’s enough fuel supply to handle up to 650 horsepower, so this system can handle anything from stock engines to the modified big-block under the hood of your street machine. The company also offers the new FAST E6 capacitive discharge ignition box and E92 coil that have been specifically developed to be EFI-friendly.

The EZ-EFI 2.0 has also been upgraded – it now offers ignition control, user control of nitrous systems, and supports up to 1,200 horsepower and a broad range of applications. The XFI Sportsman, which we’ve used successfully on our 1965 Mustang project car Biting The Bullitt, takes the leap into laptop-programmed EFI systems and can support boosted applications and others that need more fine-tuning than the EZ-EFI offers.

The company’s LSX-RT 102mm intake manifold uses the LS-style “truck” manifold’s design makes excellent power with no loss of torque, this year there’s a new black finish that will dress up the underhood appearance of your machine while providing excellent performance the LSX-RT is known for providing.

The all-new FAST electronic 102mm throttle body has been developed to fit right onto the front of that LSX-RT manifold. It works with OEM LS3 and LS7 engine control computers, in addition to engines equipped with FAST EFI and Electronic Throttle Control modules. The drive-by-wire design is the first of its kind. Lots of hotness at the show from the gang at FAST this year!
