“It’s no joke,” explained Rick Love. “LS motors are the new small block. Heck, they’re killing the big block. Lighter weight, same – if not better – power, and all the creature comforts and driveability of the new cars.” The effervescent rep from Vintage Air couldn’t have been more clear. All the talk about LS motors being the small block of choice for restomodders and new wave hot rodders seems to be legit.

“We made a couple of changes – little details here and there – to make swapping an LS into a classic Tri-Five, Corvette or muscle car a cinch. We made a billet water neck that completely rotates, making plumbing an LS in a classic really easy,” Love continued. In fact, Vintage Air also went ahead and relocated some of the tensioners and accessories to pull in the front drive kit, making it fit between the shock towers of narrower old school rides.

Love smiled, “We wanted to get out ahead of the curve on this one. We know we’ll have people wanting more and more stuff for the LS so we tried to think of as many things as we could. It’s all about thinking ahead.”

Additionally, Vintage Air brought their panache for retro-fitting compressed air conditioning systems into classic cars to the ’58 through ’62 Corvettes and Impalas (as well as other GM A-Bodies of the same period).
