Fuel Injector Clinic is an innovator to the craft of creating thorough fuel injector characterization data sheets and precision flow matching for every set of injectors that leave their facility. At the 2016 PRI trade show, we had the opportunity to talk the owner of Fuel Injector Clinic, Jens von Holten, to learn a little more about the company’s processes and why it’s so critical.
“We’ve worked really hard over this last year accumulating low pulse width and other injector data for as many of the popular OEM ECUs as possible. From Subaru, Hellcat or the Evo X; to even most modern GM and Ford applications,” explains von Holten. “We focused all of our efforts on making sure that every set of injectors that leave our facility is not only matched to our standards, but also includes ECU-specific data that can simply be dropped into a table in your tuning software.”
“To the detriment of producing new products this year, we are considered the ‘injector people’, and we wanted our customers to know without any doubts that we are really investing the time to make sure that every set of injectors we produce can be dialed in with quickly and work flawlessly,” says von Holten. “The beauty of it is that all of this information is also available right on our website.”
“When Holley announced their contract with Pro Stock, even they came to us and asked if we would do all of the matching and characterization data for their injectors that will be used in the Pro Stock program,” stated von Holten. “Teams racing at that level have little to no margin for error, so they’re extremely detail oriented and need to know everything they can about what they’re working with.”
“Holley anticipated that their injector claims would be challenged by the teams and did not feel comfortable supplying an injector that did not meet those data requirements, and that’s when they reached out to us,” concludes von Holten.
