The 2025 Carlisle GM Nationals roared into the summer season on June 20–21, transforming the Carlisle Fairgrounds into a full-throttle celebration of General Motors history, performance, and community. With 1,040 vehicles registered on the National Parts Depot Showfield and thousands of enthusiasts in attendance, the event reaffirmed its status as one of the premier gatherings of GM iron anywhere in the country.
A Showcase Of GM’s Greatest Hits
Since its inception in 2001, the GM Nationals has served as a go-to destination for fans of every GM make and model. The 2025 edition featured milestone displays that spotlighted the evolution of several legendary nameplates. Among the biggest attractions was a 70 Years of the Tri-Fives display, celebrating the timeless appeal of the 1955–57 Chevrolet. Attendees also received a close-up look at the “55 Years of the Monte Carlo” tribute and a 40th Anniversary spotlight on the IROC-Z Camaro.
It didn’t stop there. Enthusiasts were treated to handpicked groupings of 3rd Gen Camaros and Firebirds, Novas, T-Bodies, and X-Bodies. Each area offered a unique blend of pristine restorations and high-horsepower custom builds that told a story of GM’s legacy from multiple angles. Inside Building Y, the Solid Lifter Showroom brought together some of the most desirable factory muscle in existence, giving fans a rare glimpse at high-performance GM hardware from the golden era.
Cruises, Burnouts, And Raw Horsepower
Throughout the weekend, the action continued with a string of feature events and high-octane competition. Parade cruises for the Tri-Fives, T-Bodies, Monte Carlos, and 3rd Gen F-Bodies drew crowds along the show route. Bruce Larson’s Nitrofest made its triumphant return, delivering six tire-shredding, fire-breathing passes that left spectators speechless.
For those who like their events loud and smoky, the Rolling Exhaust Contest, Burnout and Donut Challenge, and the Real Street Shootout Autocross competition brought the heat. From precision handling to raw tire destruction, each contest showcased the diversity and performance potential of GM platforms.
More Than Just A Showfield
In true Carlisle tradition, the event delivered more than just static displays. Attendees had access to a sprawling Automotive Flea Market, a Car Corral brimming with for-sale classics, and a Manufacturer’s Midway filled with the latest parts, tech, and gear. Special displays like RADlisle, the 80s and 90s-themed area, kept the retro energy alive, while educational seminars from GM Master Technician Paul Koerner gave owners technical insight and hands-on advice.
“Shows within the show” continued to shine, including Novas at Carlisle, the 3rd Gen Camaro and Firebird Nationals, and Corvettes for Chip, a charitable display with deep community roots.
A National Gathering With International Reach
Enthusiasts traveled from across the U.S. and as far as Poland and Germany to be part of the weekend. The energy, camaraderie, and variety of vehicles turned casual attendees into repeat visitors. On Friday, standout builds were honored with Carlisle Elite recognition, and Saturday brought a full round of awards for both individuals and car clubs.
For many, this was their first GM Nationals experience. For most, it won’t be their last. Feedback from attendees made it clear: the 2025 show set a new benchmark, and plans are already underway to return with bigger groups and bolder builds.
Looking Ahead To 2026
The excitement isn’t slowing down. Carlisle Events has already announced a preview of next year’s features, including a 100 Years of Pontiac tribute, a special Pace Car display, and a heavy focus on square bodies and C10 trucks.
Mark your calendars now. The 2026 Carlisle GM Nationals returns to the fairgrounds June 19–20, and if 2025 was any indication, next year’s celebration of General Motors legacy will be even bigger.
