We did a little search to find out how many movies we could find with Chevy Camaros playing as “extras” in the scenes. You’ll be surprised at how many instances since the nameplate was introduced 1967 have shown up on the silver screen. Not all of these film appearances were big budget, cutting edge timeless classics. There are a good share of cheesy sci-fi movies as well.
Take this one for example:

Racer Kenny Rogers gets tangled up with 6 kids in the movie Six Pack which featured it's fair share of Camaros on the dirt. (all pictures from www.imcdb.org)
Camaros were not always the star of the show however. There were shots in movies where the Camaro was featured as a background vehicle. Check out this capture from the campy classic “Attack of the Sixty Foot Centerfolds” from 1995:

In the cult classic "Attack of the Sixty Foot Centerfolds" (1995), A magazine centerfold overdoses on a beauty enhancement drug and grows sixty feet tall. The Camaro makes it into a scene as a background vehicle.
The Camaro has also been featured in movies where delicate subject matters have been addressed. Take for example the Michael Keaton movie “Gung Ho” where a Japanese car company buys an American plant, and there is an immediate clash between the foreign management and American labor.
We’d love to see how many of our readers can find the Gen 3 and earlier F-Body Camaros in feature films. To give you a headstart, check out these movies where Camaros make an appearance:
- Heat (1995)
