To say that TMI makes some awesomely clean interiors would be an understatement. They provide high-quality interior options for hot rods, street rods, restorations and the like.
Luckily, I was able to catch up with TMI’s Larry Ashley, their Marketing Director who also works in R&D. While showing me their new rear sport seat, he mentioned, “What’s cool about this is that it utilizes the stock factory frame. A lot of people have had to take their seats to an upholstery shop to get this look, but they can now purchase it right off the shelf. This enables the user to take their springs off, fit the foam to the seats, and complete their project at home with our supplied foam and upholstery.”
While TMI used to only offer the ability to rebuild your existing seats, “Our Pro Series seats are full seat replacements that are all made in house, including the frames, of which there are high back and low back versions. We also have trunk kits as well as dash kits for those looking to extend the theme.”
“We have new rear quarter panels for Mustangs and everything for the first-gen Camaros: dashboards, quarter panels, door panels, headliners, seats, rear sport seats, and all of our new stuff tied into one package.”
The cars at the booth were attracting their share of attention, but aside from the amazing body work and other features, all of the vehicles had been fully cloaked in TMI panels and seats. The ability to finely tune a few colors and textures along with the chosen styles of the interior really makes for a lasting impression.
